image at the top of page

I have one quick question, trying not to make you very bussy

How to put at the top of page an image, now it is a light blue image, bit I want an image like a sunset at the top.

Search in your template-folder under images the file logo_phpBB.gif. This is the image on the top of the board.
Create a new logo, name it like the original one and copy it to the template folder.
So after a site refresh the new image will be shown.

no no, I know about logo image, I change it.
I am looking how to change a bacground of logo.
whole background from left to right of forum at the top, on top of it is a logo, and banners and a clock on my forum. I found a jpg file, but when I put another image it puts more one after another, I need just one image.

This is the picture "cellpic_bkg.jpg".
Edit it or remove it with deleting the class in overall_header.tpl

I like to replace it with one pic, now the cellpic_bkg.jpg is a 4 cm height and 0.5 cm width
and if i put a pic 4cm height and 25 cm width, it takes 2 pic instead of 1.

This is a feature some browsers will do, but normaly an image will not be streched.

Öhm, no. For doing this you must know how width / height is the browser window to fit the image.
There's no command to fit an image to the window. Just via scripts like in Javascript, Java, or similar you can fit the image.

Okay, try this:
Open the overall_header.tpl and find

Code: Alles auswählen

<td align="center" width="100%">{BANNER_0_IMG}</td><td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" width="28" height="4" /></td>

Replace this line with

Code: Alles auswählen

<td align="center">{BANNER_0_IMG}</td><td><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt="" width="28" height="4" /></td>

This lets the image dimensions as they are and do not stretch or muliple it.

I try this but I cant say it works, because my portal streches up over proportion, thats makes users unhappy, don't know why??

how to make a portal to always fit a monitor resolution?

No wonder. Resize the images from the countdown. This block will not wrap!

I did remove the countodwn images but it was the same. I will turn off the countdown for a wfile to check.

Look into the portal_body.tpl.
There are defined the tables with width="100%". Try to remove (only!) one width for each column.

I will try.
I did some testing, I copied my portal_body.tpl and overall_header.tpl from povej.com, to povej.net and portal still sreches up over proportion, but on povej.com doesn't strech up and it works OK, I don't understand why?

Look for content in each box on the portal. Will something not warp?
To long text, to width images?

No there was no long text, no big images, but still.
I did what you suggest and remove width="100%" in portal_body.tpl.
now it works. TNX

What is this 100% and why is the problem about that?

100% will be interpreted differently by each browser.
IE will fit the width to 100% for the windows, or, if into a table cell to the maximum cell width.
Firefox will interpret it as it is and fit the cell to the width this cell can have, so the column may fit the window, not the table

and the layout is destroyed. But this is the right definition!!!!!

But Smartor, the author of the Portal, haved already updated the ezPortal without the "one" uneeded 100%. After stefan released the plus 1.5.2

I will check a blend portal it has a lot of possibility, and maybe change ez portal to blend portal if it is more flexibile than this I have.

blend is a great portal to and austin (the creator) gives great support to the people to, that the thing that makes a mod great imo just like oxpus does here
